A mysterious, black-robed figure holding a candle walks along a darkened path. Blue hues pick out the moonlit forest around him.

The Path

This one was a delight to create! I wanted a dark, spooky image in line with the upcoming Halloween season. Working from references of myself in costume as well as a walking path in wintertime, I experimented with using simple makeup sponges to apply the etheral layers of blue. I'm quite excited by the result!

'The Path' will be available at "Not Your Grandmother's Landscape" at 80 Santa Fe Gallery in downtown Overland Park from July 17 to August 17, 2026! Come see it in person!

A lone figure in the night, seeking a path by whatever light is available. Spooky or inspiring? For me, it's a little of both, and seems to be an image I return to over and over.
